Purpose

* Look at this dialogue:

B: He needs it to take some photos.

The question "What ...for?" asks about purpose.
To talk about someone's purpose, we can use to + infinitive (for example, to take).

* Now look at this dialogue:

B: He needs it for his work.
To talk about someone's purpose, we can use for + noun (for example, for his work).
