1. to have itchy feet = to want to go somewhere new or do sth different.
2. to go into uncharted territory = to go to a place which is quite unexplored.
3. to go as an independent traveller = to travel on your own not as part of an organised group or tour.
4. to wander round = to walk slowly around an area.
5. to be bitten by the travel bug = to have a sudden strong urge to travel more.
6. to have a bumpy ride/time = to have a lot of problems for a long time.
